IPO-Pakistan’s Inventor Assistance Program: What Inventors Should Know
“An idea is only as valuable as the protection and support built around it.”

IPO-Pakistan is promoting its Inventor Assistance Program (IAP) under the theme “From Ideas to Impact”. The program, run with WIPO, launched in Pakistan in April 2025, making Pakistan the tenth country to join WIPO's IAP.

Under the IAP, volunteer registered patent agents help eligible inventors navigate the patent system at no cost, with support for protecting inventions in Pakistan and selected other countries, help with patent drafting and, more recently, commercialization guidance.

This fills a gap that's been obvious for years. Pakistan has no shortage of inventive ideas — what's often missing is the structured pathway from a working prototype to a protected, commercially viable product.

For independent inventors, researchers and early-stage founders, this is worth a serious look rather than a passing scroll. Programs like this are best judged by how many inventors actually use them, not by the launch announcement.

Program details are available from IPO-Pakistan and on WIPO's IAP online platform (in English and Urdu).
